Michael Reilly A spiritual, intangible, and completely spellbinding creation. This droning hum of unlimited quiet energy and mystical depth foreshadows significant events just beyond our own personal reach. Favorite track: Haunted By The Knowledge That They Were Us, And We Are The Ground.

about

Sonology Of The Ground, the third full-length release from The Elderbranch Campaign, is an interpretive audio documentation of an archaeological investigation into a now vanished people. The references to "the ground" being not the earth we walk on, but those who have been ground down by life, work, economic disparity, etc, culminating in the final track "Haunted By The Knowledge That They Were Us, And We Are The Ground", as one comes to the sad realization that history is cyclical, and the common man is forever doomed to be ground to lifelessness.

Sonically and stylistically Sonology Of The Ground is a continuation of the feel and processes established on Soundscapes Of The Weathered, featuring synths, highly manipulated field recordings and various choirs, monks, calls to prayer, etc...

ABSOLUTELY BEST EXPERIENCED OVER HEADPHONES.
